Job summary

Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY is seeking a Lab Tech Assistant to support the laboratory by preparing specimens, registering and accessioning orders, and performing pre-analytical tasks. The role includes phlebotomy and specimen collection to ensure proper processing.

You will maintain inventory, assist with waived testing and slide preparation, and collaborate with technologists. Travel to off-site locations is expected as part of the duties with Bon Secours Mercy Health benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Associates in Biology or Chemistry preferred.
• Laboratory experience preferred but not required.
• Keyboarding or data experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients and community.
• Collect blood specimens following venipuncture procedures and transport to the lab.
• Support technologists with instruments, reagents, thawing, pooling, and blood product handling.
• Identify instrument issues and inform appropriate personnel.
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory checks and stock supplies.
• Troubleshoot problems promptly and perform other duties as assigned.
