Howard University is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the NIH SC1HL150685 grant on the role of HGFL in sickle cell nephropathy. The role includes routine maintenance of the laboratory, cell culture, and mice colonies, plus testing and analyzing human and mouse specimens.
Reporting to Dr. Marina Jerebtsova, you will perform RNA and protein isolation, RT-PCR, Western blot, and immunostaining, and participate in protocol development and lab meetings to advance early kidney disease

This is a one‑year position that is supported by NIH SC1HL150685 grant “The role of HGFL in the sickle cell disease nephropathy”. The proposed research is aimed at understanding of the mechanism of kidney disease and developing a novel clinical test for early kidney disease detection in sickle cell disease patients.
B.S. or M.S degree in biology, molecular biology, immunology, physiology, or related fields.
