Job summary

Charles River Laboratories is seeking an entry-level Lab Support Associate to perform basic laboratory support and maintain inventory in a regulated environment. The role involves equipment operation, preparing simple solutions, glassware handling, and documentation under GLP/SOP guidelines.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and strong attention to detail with good communication; prior lab experience is not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required.
• Must have valid, state-issued drivers license.
• Familiarity with lab procedures and good verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive, monitor, and maintain inventory and stock levels of assigned areas.
• Operate lab equipment and perform routine maintenance as needed.
• May prepare lab solutions (e.g., buffers, media, vehicles, etc.).
• Wash and dry glassware and distribute to locations within the laboratory; sterilize as needed.
• Label tubes and perform laboratory setup/cleanup.
• Organize and inventory department refrigerators/freezers.
• Assist in archiving equipment/facility records.
• Assist technical personnel with clerical duties (filing, shipments, etc.).
• Record observations and measurements for basic lab tasks.
• Perform limited troubleshooting and maintenance of instruments.
• Generate forms, tables, and hand-record data.
• Comply with GLPs and SOPs.
• Ship, store, and document supplies (test articles, dry ice, reagents).
• Assist with expiry checks and discard of supplies.
