Job summary

SRMC Summersville Regional Medical Center seeks a clerical associate to support laboratory testing workflows and patient results communication. You will sort orders, transport materials to data entry, and assist in blood bank duties while preserving patient confidentiality.

The role requires strong communication, ability to work under pressure, and familiarity with laboratory terminology. Monday–Friday, 40 hours, on-site at Summersville WV with standard non-exempt duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to handle confidential information and protect patient data.
• Strong communication skills and basic medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Process and organize patient/physician orders according to procedure manual.
• Answer phones in a friendly, caring manner and route calls appropriately.
• Communicate with satellite labs and drawing stations for test requirements and results.
• Train and guide new laboratory associates.
• Direct phlebotomy team for STAT/now collections.
• Deliver patient reports to physician offices and fax reports as needed.
• Telephones outpatient results of critical values with read-back as required.
• Maintain inventory of office and computer supplies and ensure equipment readiness.
