Qualifications

• Licensed as a supervisor by the State of Florida in appropriate specialties.
• National certification preferred when available.
• Experience in a supervisory role within a clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for adequate staffing and schedules.
• Provides technical supervisory coverage for equipment or reagent problems.
• Advises the manager/director on laboratory issues.
• Compiles statistics for the laboratory performance improvement program.
• Orients new employees and ensures competency testing and safety training.
• Oversees quality control and corrective action documentation.
• Oversees proficiency testing and timely result submission.
• Leads monthly staff meetings with minutes and action items.
• Implements the laboratory safety program and downtime procedures.
• Improves processes in collaboration with management.
