Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor for the Cleveland Works chemical laboratory. You will lead a team of hourly union employees, ensure safety and compliance, and support manufacturing with timely lab results.

You will develop and apply analytical methods, participate in audits, maintain equipment, and coordinate with operations to deliver reliable testing. A BS in a technical field and strong leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Sciences or Engineering or Chemistry with relevant experience in analytical labs.
• Prior supervisory experience in a laboratory setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with ASTM and other agency test methods; audit readiness.

Responsibilities

• Supervise hourly union employees and ensure safety.
• Support audit readiness for Quality, Safety, and Environmental standards.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and perform preventive maintenance; troubleshoot issues.
• Develop and apply analytical methods and procedures.
• Coordinate with operations to provide timely and reliable lab support for manufacturing.
• Create work instructions for lab procedures and manage lab inventory within budget.
• Communicate with upstream/downstream operations and external contractors.
