Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Supervisor - Lab Facility to lead laboratory operations on the Day Shift (Varies). This Full-Time onsite role is exempt and supports Pre-Analytical Testing with a focus on quality and efficiency.

You will oversee staff, ensure coverage, coach team members, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining strict safety and regulatory standards in a busy laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Science or a related Clinical Science field.
• Four (4) years of clinical laboratory or related experience.
• State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Supervisor License.

Responsibilities

• Oversee laboratory staff and daily departmental operations.
• Hire, onboard, and schedule staff to ensure appropriate coverage.
• Conduct performance evaluations and coaching for growth.
• Ensure timely and accurate laboratory testing and result reporting.
• Support staff competency, training, and validation processes.
• Troubleshoot testing, equipment, and specimen handling issues.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and inspection readiness.
• Enforce laboratory safety standards and maintain a safe work environment.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Assist with expense processing and departmental operations.
• Support leadership priorities and perform additional duties as assigned.

Role Overview:

As a Supervisor - Lab Facility, you will lead laboratory operations, staff performance, and compliance efforts while ensuring high-quality diagnostic services and continuous operational improvement. This position supports Pre-Analytical Testing.
