Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I for the Mease Countryside Hospital in Florida. This full-time, onsite role covers night shifts (9:30 PM – 7:30 AM) with every-other weekend work and a focus on accurate diagnostic testing and quality control to support patient care.

The position requires an Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology or a related field, Florida CLT license, and at least four months of clinical lab experience; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology OR related field required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of four months clinical laboratory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing and quality control procedures.
• Prepare reagents and maintain laboratory operations.
• Review and oversee moderate to high complexity testing.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies; monitor computer systems.

Job Summary

Performs diagnostic testing and quality control procedures, prepares reagents, and reports results in accordance with established policies and procedures. Reviews and oversees moderate to high complexity testing, maintains equipment and supplies, and monitors computer applications related to laboratory operations. Ensures accuracy and compliance in all testing activities and performs other duties as assigned.

Role Overview

As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I, you will perform diagnostic testing and ensure accurate, timely laboratory results to support patient care.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Performing diagnostic testing and quality control procedures


• Preparing reagents and supporting laboratory operations


• Reviewing and overseeing moderate to high complexity testing


• Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring proper supply levels


• Monitoring laboratory systems and computer applications


• Ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with laboratory standards


• Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications Education Required

• Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology OR related field

Preferred

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Experience Required

• Clinical laboratory experience


• Minimum of four (4) months relevant experience

Licensure / Certification Required

• State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
