Job summary

The College of Lake County is seeking a qualified Fire Science Technology Laboratory Specialist to provide hands-on training for Fire Basic Operations (FBO) classes and to help students master core firefighter skills.

Responsibilities include supervising safety during practical sessions and guiding students through practical drills. A minimum of five years of fire service experience and relevant certifications are required, with bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Five years of documented fire service experience.
• Firefighter III or Advanced Firefighter Certification.
• Fire Instructor I & II Certification.
• Compliance training requirements to be completed.
• Class B Non-CDL Illinois driver's license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science Technology or equivalent.
• Promotion to lieutenant or above preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
