Job summary

The University of Michigan School of Nursing's Clinical Learning Center seeks a full-time Laboratory Classroom Services Technician & Standardized Patient Support Specialist. This blended role supports daily operation of the CLC and assists the SP Program Manager in coordinating standardized patient events, both in person and via telehealth.

Reporting to the CLC Co-Directors, you will stock supplies, set up rooms for labs and simulations, greet students, and help maintain sign-out logs.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One (1) or more years of experience in an educational and/or health care education environment.
• Experience with simulation and/or standardized patient events is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products (including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to write clearly for various mediums.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly, including video-recording and multimedia equipment.
• Ability to work independently as well as effectively on teams.
• Ability to promote the School of Nursing's values.

Responsibilities

• Assure facilities, equipment, and supplies are organized and set up for in-person SP sessions.
• Understand equipment used in the CLC for SP events, including video systems and Zoom.
• Assist in preparing for and running standardized patient events for undergraduate and graduate needs.
• Help create and maintain sign-out sheets and other record-keeping methods to track SP hours.
• Function as a standardized patient as needed.
• Develop working relationships with faculty and standardized patients.
• Determine supplies and equipment needed for SP events and activities.
• Utilize computer software to support schedules, training sessions, classes, workshops, and other activities.
