Job summary

The University of Michigan-Flint School of Management seeks a Laboratory & Shop Assistant (Student/Work Study) to support the CIT machine shop operations on the Flint Campus.

You will prepare lab specimens, assist students, set up equipment, handle data entry, and help maintain tools, with safety compliance and on-site hours as defined by the department.

Qualifications

Experience with SolidWorks.
3D printing experience.
Basic machine shop skills.

Job description

Job Summary

Student will be responsible for supporting critical operations of the various priorities within the CIT machine shop and associated equipment and spaces.

Responsibilities

Preparation of lab specimens
Work with students in lab/shop
Set up lab equipment
Data entry
Maintaining machine shop equipment
Ensure that students using the lab and shop areas follow established safety procedures and guidelines

Required Qualifications

Experience with Solidworks
3D printing experience
Basic Machine Shop skills

Junior standing, GPA above 3.0 preferred
Strong interpersonal skills
Team player

Modes of Work

The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan
