LABORATORY & SHOP ASSISTANT (Student/Work Study)

Student will be responsible for supporting critical operations of the various priorities within the CIT machine shop and associated equipment and spaces.

Responsibilities*

• Preparation of lab specimens
• Work with students in lab/shop
• Set up lab equipment
• Ensure that students using the lab and shop areas follow established safety procedures and guidelines

Required Qualifications*

UM-Flint undergraduate student in good academic standing with the following:

• Experience with Solidworks
• 3D printing experience
• Basic Machine Shop skills

Desired Qualifications*

• Junior standing, GPA above 3.0 preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Team player

Modes of Work

Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan
