Job summary

Regions Hospital seeks a Lab Service Technician to perform specimen collection, testing, phlebotomy, and related duties in a 0.7 FTE daytime role. The position supports reception, scheduling, billing, and specimen dispatch, with a focus on accuracy and efficient workflow.

Preferred candidates have a high school diploma and healthcare exposure, plus completion of a health care program (CMA/EMT/Phlebotomy) and a phlebotomy certificate is strongly recommended.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Health care experience including phlebotomy.
• Completion of a health care program (e.g. CMA, EMT, Paramedic, phlebotomy).

Responsibilities

• Specimen collection and processing.
• Laboratory testing and phlebotomy duties.
• Client service at reception and handling scheduling/billing functions.
• Dispatching and centrifuging; delivery of specimens to labs.
• Support staff with specimen handling questions; ensure workflow efficiency; ECG tracings.
