Job summary

Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest is seeking a Laboratory Services Coordinator to perform and coordinate specimen processing and LIS-based data entry. You will handle administrative tasks in a high-volume lab, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years in a lab or healthcare setting, and experience with LIS or practice management systems. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to meet productivity and quality metrics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years experience in a laboratory or healthcare environment.
• Experience with laboratory information (LIS) or practice management systems.
• Data entry experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform a high volume of data entry of test request and results information into LIS.
• Log daily lab room temperature and compile monthly for the manager to sign.
• Receive and sort incoming specimens; accession and batch specimens for runs; file, store, and retrieve specimens.
• Work with Case Management to resolve sample issues; perform problem solving and documentation.
• Answer the telephone and direct calls appropriately.
• Maintain records and files per Procedure Manual for orderly operation.
• Responsible for inventory, ordering and lab re-supply; receive orders.
• Generate reports as needed; support goals for productivity and quality metrics.
