Job summary

BURL Outreach Clinical Laboratory in Panorama City is seeking a Laboratory Technician 2 to support high-volume specimen processing and accurate data entry. You will prepare specimens for analysis, assist with coordinating couriers, and triage samples to ensure timely testing.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least two years’ experience in a busy lab, weekend/holiday availability, and familiarity with LIS/HIS and MS Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED/HiSET).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent specimen processing in a high-volume laboratory.
• Flexibility to work at multiple draw stations and weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for analysis.
• Coordinate couriers and routes, and follow up on service delays.
• Triage lab samples and verify information.
• Enter and verify patient/test information in LIS/HIS.
• Generate computer labels and deliver them to appropriate areas.
• Prepare samples for transport to referral labs or storage.
• Document draws, added tests, and cancelled/rejected specimens.
