  • Answer telephone and direct calls to appropriate staff.
  • Maintain records and files per Procedure Manual for orderly operation.

The Laboratory Services Coordinator will perform and coordinate specimen processing and test requisition entry using the Laboratory Information System (LIS). This position will be responsible for performing administrative and clerical duties in the laboratory, including a high volume of data entry.

The ideal candidate will have strong written communication and interpersonal skills and be committed to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction. In this role, you'll get to:
  • Perform a high volume of data entry of test request and results information into LIS.
  • Log in daily lab room temperature and compile at the end of the month for the manager to sign.
  • Receive and sort incoming specimens; accession and batch specimens for runs; and file, store, and retrieve specimens.
  • Work with Case Management team to ensure final resolution of all sample issues as they arise. Perform all functions pertaining to problem solving and case research including follow-up calls and documentation as required.
  • Answer the telephone and direct calls appropriately.
  • Maintain records and files as required by Procedure Manual to ensure the orderly functioning of the laboratory.
  • Responsible for inventory, ordering and lab re-supply as well as receiving orders.
  • Generate reports as needed.
  • Support health center efforts to achieve established goals for productivity and quality metrics.
  • Support health center/affiliate efforts to achieve established revenue cycle goals.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to laboratory staff.
  • Provide training to new Laboratory Services Coordinators as needed.
What we're looking for:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience in a laboratory or healthcare environment required
  • Experience with laboratory information (LIS) or practice management systems required
  • Data entry experience required

$23 - $23 an hour
