Job summary

HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital is seeking a Section Coordinator to provide expertise in hospital laboratory operations. You will lead a team, perform stat testing, and ensure quality control in line with CAP and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will hold an Associate Degree in Science or higher, possess or obtain Florida licensure as a technologist, and have 3 years of Medical Technologist experience.

Qualifications

• 2-Year/Associate Degree in Science required.
• 4-Year/Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology preferred.
• State of Florida Technologist License or ability to obtain one during interview.
• ASCP or similar certification helpful.
• 3 years of experience as a Medical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Perform stat procedures and analyze testing samples.
• Perform quality control procedures per protocol and complete documentation.
• Assist supervisor/department head in developing talent to meet regulatory requirements.
• Assist in training department personnel.
• Prioritize, perform, or delegate laboratory testing based on patient data and policies.
• Provide updates to Laboratory Manager on operations.
• Lead staff through positive example and maintain rapport to deliver department services.
