Zusammenfassung

The Regents of the University of California on behalf of their Los Angeles Campus seeks a Chemical Safety Specialist to apply technical knowledge to implement and continuously improve comprehensive laboratory and chemical safety programs across UCLA.

Under supervision, you will provide technical consultation to faculty, researchers, staff and students on chemical safety requirements and participate in safety training, incident investigations, and program improvements.

Qualifikationen

• 2 years professional experience in a comprehensive environmental health and safety program.
• Ability to initiate and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and managers; team player.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain procedures and regulations to diverse audiences.
• Ability to speak clearly and present information to faculty, staff and students.
• Ability to set priorities and work under fluctuating workloads.
• Experience working independently and making sound judgments in a large organization.
• Demonstrated critical thinking, diplomacy and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to work on-site and outside regular hours when needed.
• Advanced knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety regulations governing laboratory safety.

• Develop and deliver safety training.
• Participate in hazardous materials emergency response.
• Conduct incident investigations and support process improvements.
