Tempus AI in Chicago is seeking a Laboratory Safety Manager to oversee enterprise safety and emergency management policies, ensuring regulatory compliance across all laboratory operations. The role combines hands-on program management with training, auditing, and continuous process improvements.

You will lead safety policy development, advise on CAP/CLIA, NYS, OSHA, FDA, and DOT regulations, coordinate hazardous waste disposal, maintain SDS, and drive safety training and audits for all lab staff.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in industrial hygiene, environmental health, chemistry, biology, or a closely related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in an EHS-related role is desired.
• Experience working in CLIA/CAP laboratory is desired.
• Knowledge of state and federal safety regulations for work environment and personnel.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee enterprise safety and emergency management policies.
• Develop, review, revise, and maintain laboratory safety policies.
• Advise staff and ensure compliance with CAP/CLIA, NYS, OSHA, FDA, and DOT safety regulations.
• Monitor chemicals and biohazardous materials per guidelines and coordinate hazardous waste disposal.
• Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all labs and ensure up-to-date binders.
• Manage incident reporting and safety events.
• Establish PPE protocols and train staff on safety.
• Provide safety training and ensure annual quizzes/updates.
• Prepare for and participate in laboratory audits with Quality and Management teams.
• Write policies to meet lab safety codes and assess ergonomic risk.
• Lead safety committee discussions and training delivery.
• Lead assigned staff and perform other duties as assigned.
