Job summary

Tempus, based in Chicago, seeks an experienced Laboratory Safety Manager to oversee enterprise safety and emergency management, ensuring CAP/CLIA, NYS, OSHA, FDA, and DOT compliance across labs. The role includes policy development, SDS management, training, audits, and incident investigations to foster a culture of safety.

With at least 5 years in an EHS-related role, you will lead a safety program, supervise staff, and collaborate with Quality and Management teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene or related field.
• Minimum 5 years EHS-related experience.
• Experience with CLIA/CAP lab regulations desired.
• Knowledge of state and federal safety regulations.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee enterprise safety and emergency management policies.
• Develop and maintain laboratory safety policies.
• Ensure compliance with CAP/CLIA, NYS, OSHA, FDA, and DOT safety rules.
• Manage SDS and safety training program.
• Lead safety audits and incident investigations.
• Chair the safety committee and drive continuous improvement.
