The University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences Core Research Facilities seeks a Laboratory Research Technician IV to perform independent and complex experiments, analyze data, and prepare reports. The role involves data visualization, results interpretation, and contribution to publications.

Performs a variety of independent and complex laboratory work and experiments, including determining experimental protocols and preparing laboratory specimens and cultures. Provides research experiment design expertise. Analyzes experimental data and interprets results; compiles results; writes reports and summaries of findings. Maintains supply inventory and ordering. Maintains lab and chemical inventory. Keeps detailed, accurate, and timely data and log books. Prepares data, graphs, tables, and charts to document experimental results for publication. Writes technical support regarding testing methodologies for manuscripts; performs literature searches; summarizes findings for reports and written documentations. Develops expert recommendations and problem resolutions to improve research efforts.
Walking around campus, sitting and standing for long periods of time. Lifting up to 40 pounds. Bending and lifting to put away supplies. Reading small print on tubes and vials. Working under standard office and laboratory overhead lighting. Ability to walk up a minimum of 2 flights of stairs.
