Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Laboratory Research Technician to assist with lab management and experiments in molecular biology, behavior, biochemistry, electrophysiology, electrochemistry and immunohistochemistry.

Position is full-time temporary (SHRA), 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday with occasional weekend work. Start date 09/28/2026; duration 6 months or longer. Apply by 09/13/2026.

Position Summary

The Research Technician will assist with lab management operations and assist the Principal Investigator and members of the laboratory with experiments involving molecular biology, behavior, biochemistry, electrophysiology, electrochemistry and immunohistochemistry.

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Management Preferences

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint);
• Additional software knowledge highly preferred (examples but not limited to GraphPad Prism, Deep Lab Cut);
• Coding experience (examples but not limited to: MatLab, Python);
• Prior experience with rodent models.
