Job summary

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in North Carolina is seeking a Laboratory Research Technician to assist with lab management and perform experiments across molecular biology, behavior and immunohistochemistry. The role supports the PI and laboratory members in a dynamic research setting.

The position is full-time temporary, 40 hours per week, with a standard Monday–Friday schedule and occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with lab management and support the Principal Investigator and lab members.
  • Conduct experiments involving molecular biology, behavior, biochemistry, electrophysiology, electrochemistry and immunohistochemistry.

Position Summary

The Research Technician will assist with lab management operations and assist the Principal Investigator and members of the laboratory with experiments involving molecular biology, behavior, biochemistry, electrophysiology, electrochemistry and immunohistochemistry.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Management Preferences
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint);
  • Additional software knowledge highly preferred (examples but not limited to GraphPad Prism, Deep Lab Cut);
  • Coding experience (examples but not limited to: MatLab, Python);
  • Prior experience with rodent models.
