The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a Laboratory Research Technician to support lab operations and assist the Principal Investigator with experiments spanning molecular biology, behavior, biochemistry, electrophysiology, electrochemistry and immunohistochemistry.

This full-time temporary role, 40 hours per week, offers a pathway to contribute to health-related research in North Carolina, working with a dynamic team in the Alcohol Studies Center.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Additional software knowledge such as GraphPad Prism, DeepLabCut is preferred.
  • Coding experience in MatLab or Python is advantageous.
  • Prior experience with rodent models is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • The Research Technician will assist with lab management operations and support the PI and lab members in experiments involving molecular biology, behavior, biochemistry, electrophysiology, electrochemistry and immunohistochemistry.

Position Summary

The Research Technician will assist with lab management operations and assist the Principal Investigator and members of the laboratory with experiments involving molecular biology, behavior, biochemistry, electrophysiology, electrochemistry and immunohistochemistry.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Management Preferences
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint);
  • Additional software knowledge highly preferred (examples but not limited to GraphPad Prism, Deep Lab Cut);
  • Coding experience (examples but not limited to: MatLab, Python);
  • Prior experience with rodent models.
