Job summary

The Oregon Department of Agriculture seeks a Laboratory Program Manager (Science, Chemistry, and Laboratory Manager 2) to lead the agency’s analytical laboratory program, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards and high-quality testing.

Located in Wilsonville, this full-time role requires strong supervision, budget management, and the ability to guide scientific and administrative teams; salary range is $7,537–$11,657 per month with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Six years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience.
• Three years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry or a closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific, supervisory, and strategic leadership for the agency’s analytical laboratory program, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Oversee laboratory personnel to ensure high-quality testing and timely results.
• Maintain ISO IEC 17025 accreditation and serve as agency representative to Oregon’s Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ORELAP).
• Develop, implement, and maintain laboratory policies and procedures.
• Lead, supervise, mentor, and recruit diverse, competent staff to support agency mission.
