Job description

Overview

Production Manager - Miramar, FL - Tuesday - Saturday 2:00am-10:30am

Manage the Specimen Management department areas (including Accessioning, Tech Ops, Referrals) to process specimens and ensure on-time handoff to internal customers with a focus on quality, compliance, and productivity. The incumbent will own and ensure an adequate workflow of specimens from drop-off to transfer to testing areas.

The role is responsible for monitoring performance metrics across all areas, managing priorities, ensuring effective communication between all area leaders through various daily management mechanisms, ensuring timely escalation in case of equipment downtime, and identifying potential cost savings or process improvements. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership skills, robust problem-solving experience in a fast-paced setting, data-driven decision-making abilities, and be highly organized.

Additionally, the candidate must maintain a safe, ergonomically sound, professional environment.

  • Organize and lead projects within the work group and cross-functional teams. Presentations and speaking engagements are required.
Qualifications

Required Work Experience:

Minimum of 8 years laboratory experience with at least 4 years of direct supervisory experience in a clinical or anatomical pathology laboratory.

Preferred Work Experience:

Medical or production background preferred.

  • Proven leadership in people and project management.
  • Detail-oriented, quality-focused, and data-driven.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask effectively.
  • Experience in a regulated industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong performance management and people development skills.
  • High energy and positivity to motivate the team through challenges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Power BI is desirable.
