Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Laboratory Technician to receive, evaluate, accession, process, store and distribute patient specimens for lab testing in accordance with SOPs. You will ensure samples meet pre-analytical requirements and resolve specimen issues to support timely testing and accurate results.

The role requires strong problem-solving, the ability to work under pressure, basic computer skills, and a high school diploma. Shift: 40 hrs/wk, first shift, with some weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age and high school education or equivalent.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities to identify and correct specimen issues.
• Ability to concentrate and work accurately under pressure; computer experience required.

Responsibilities

• Receive, evaluate, accession, process, store and distribute patient specimens.
• Ensure samples meet pre-analytical testing requirements and resolve issues.
• Project a professional image through phone, email and other communications.
