Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Laboratory Technician at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha. Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 1:00pm–9:30pm with rotating weekends 1x a month.

Responsibilities include technical and pre-analytic support across laboratory operations and outreach client services. The role involves specimen evaluation, accessioning, labeling, data entry in LIS/EHR, and collaboration with hospital staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Prior experience as a phlebotomist or data entry or specimen processor in a clinical laboratory or physician office preferred.
• Ability to use a computer and standard office applications; knowledge of HL7 interface; ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Process patient specimens and ensure accurate labeling and handling.
• Enter patient information and test orders into LIS/EHR accurately.
• Maintain section materials, supplies, and equipment; perform routine maintenance.
• Provide outreach client support and professional communication with clients.
