Responsibilities

• Establishes policies, procedures and protocols for testing in a defined laboratory section.
• Oversees staffing, directs training, and conducts performance evaluations as needed.
• Ensures quality control and instrument maintenance; assesses service quality and staff development.
• Acts as a consultant to laboratory staff and other healthcare team members; can act as manager in absence.
• Works in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and decisive judgment.
