Job summary

Animas Surgical Hospital in Durango, Colorado, is seeking a Laboratory Technician Supervisor to coordinate and manage in-house lab operations. You will oversee testing, specimen handling, and collaboration with clinical departments to ensure accurate results and timely reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with CLS or MLT certification (or an appropriate Associate's with CLIA supervisor qualifications) and at least one year of experience in a high‑complexity lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with CLS or MLT certification.
• Associates degree in an applied science field meeting CLIA's general supervisor qualification.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing and analysis.
• Collects, logs, and transfers all laboratory specimens, including cultures and pathology.
• Coordinates API testing at direction of Technical Consultant.
• Maintains competency and proficiency testing records and documentation.
• Maintains documentation of QC and validation studies.
• Identifies problems that may affect testing or reporting of results.
• Investigates reported or identified lab deficiencies or issues.
• Oversees and manages lab supply and inventory tracking.
• Works with clinical departments, lab personnel, and contracted lab services to optimize specimen workflow.
• Responsible for Quality Assurance Program in the lab.
• Management of Blood Bank.
• Responsible for supply distribution and quality control.
