Job summary

White-Wilson Medical Center in Fort Walton Beach, FL seeks a Laboratory Administrative and General Supervisor to direct day-to-day front-line and pre-analytic operations. This role supervises reception, phlebotomy, specimen processing, and result reporting, reporting to the Laboratory Director.

Responsibilities include staffing, onboarding, competency assessment, and ensuring CLIA compliance across departments. Strong leadership and coordination across teams are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• MLS/MT with at least five years of clinical laboratory experience.
• Current MLS(ASCP) or MT(ASCP) certification or equivalent.
• Meets CLIA general supervisor qualifications from 42 CFR 493.1461 (associate degree + 2 years or bachelor's + 1 year of high complexity testing).
• Current Florida clinical laboratory personnel license appropriate to the role and active.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily workflow for reception, phlebotomy, specimen processing and reporting.
• Provide general supervision of testing personnel and reporting of results.
• Build staff schedules across front-line areas and provide shift coverage.
• Direct onboarding, training, and competency assessment for direct-report staff.
• Monitor pre-analytic quality and address recurring issues through coaching.
• Manage attendance, performance feedback, and personnel documentation.
• Maintain and update procedures for front-line areas.
• Track service issues and workflow bottlenecks in the pre-analytic area.
