Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking a Laboratory Operations Specialist to guide the technical operation of the laboratory, maintaining instruments and assays and documenting changes through the TLCP. You will collaborate with management and technologists to ensure efficient workflows and high-quality results.

This exempt, full-time role requires a Bachelor's in clinical/medical laboratory science with at least two years of relevant experience; ASCP or equivalent certification may be required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical/medical laboratory science (CLS/MLS), medical technology (MT), chemistry, biological science from an accredited institution.
• Two years of relevant laboratory experience required.
• ASCP or other certification pertinent to the laboratory field may be required depending on the laboratory specialty and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Directs technical operation of the laboratory, including operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instruments and assays.
• Validates and documents operational changes using the test life cycle process (TLCP).
• Provides direction for operational workflow and serves as an expert resource for the work unit.
• Completes other projects or assignments as needed and acts as expert resource for laboratory technologists.
