Job summary

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and log incoming specimens according to established procedures.
• Verify specimen labeling and identifiers before processing.
• Maintain tracking records for specimen receipt, status, location, and disposition.
• Ensure specimens are routed to testing sections within turnaround time goals.
• Identify and elevate labeling issues or discrepancies per policy.
• Reconcile analyzer output with LIS entries, EHR documentation, and records.
• Maintain reconciliation logs, tracking spreadsheets, and documentation control records.
• Monitor unresolved cases and aging discrepancies; escalate to management.
• Maintain manual logs during LIS or system downtime and reconcile results afterward.
• Track reference laboratory specimens from accessioning to final results; verify requisitions.
• Support hematology cross-training and workflow as assigned.
• Audit laboratory documentation daily for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist with regulatory inspections, internal audits, and quality reviews.
