Job summary

EPIC Health in Warren, MI seeks a Laboratory Lead to oversee daily laboratory operations, support staff development, and ensure regulatory compliance across multiple locations. You will lead testing workflows, manage equipment, and drive quality and efficiency improvements.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive knowledge of CLIA/COLA/CMS regulations, and the ability to coordinate staffing and resources across sites. Travel between clinical locations is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of clinical laboratory operations, testing procedures, quality control, calibration, reagents, and specimen collection materials.
• Experience with laboratory quality assurance, proficiency testing, linearity, and documentation requirements.
• Ability to develop, interpret, and implement laboratory policies and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily clinical laboratory operations, including testing workflows, equipment performance, specimen processing, and result reporting.
• Monitor equipment functionality, coordinate maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimize downtime.
• Train, coach, and support laboratory technicians to ensure competency and adherence to procedures.
• Coordinate staffing and schedules to maintain adequate coverage across laboratory sections and locations.
• Monitor turnaround times and address workflow issues to prevent delays.
