Job summary

Trinity Health Livonia is seeking a Lab Manager for the Core Lab and Blood Bank, overseeing a team of 40+ colleagues and ensuring accurate, timely testing and high quality patient care.

The role requires strong technical background in Hematology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis, plus leadership experience in supervision, training, and budget management. On-site, full-time position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Education: Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology, Histotechnology or related field.
• Certification: MT/HT ASCP or NCLS preferred.
• Experience: 3–5 years with leadership exposure.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages lab staff, including hiring recommendations and scheduling.
• Oversees daily lab operations for accurate, timely testing and high-quality patient care.
• Ensures regulatory compliance, safety, quality control, and proficiency testing.
• Manages budgets, inventory, and vendor utilization to meet financial targets.
• Provides technical guidance and coordinates interdepartmental collaboration.
• Evaluates new methodologies and implements process improvements.
• Maintains quality documentation and supports education and training.
