Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, biology, chemistry or related field or equivalent experience.
• Business Management education or experience preferred.
• 3+ years of hands‑on related experience.
• Leadership experience.
• Scientific background preference towards separations and characterisations methods like LC, capillary electrophoresis, spectrophotometry.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Understanding of day‑to‑day business operations.
• Strong client service, teamwork and collaboration.
• Strong computer, scientific and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self‑motivation and adaptability.
• Ability to learn new techniques and perform multiple tasks while keeping accurate records.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead direct reports, group leaders and teams, and serve clients in technical settings such as laboratories or manufacturing facilities.
• Hold monthly meetings with direct reports, department and client managers.
• Disseminate administrative communications.
• Apply the highest quality standards in all areas of responsibility.
• Manage departmental finances as defined by the Director.
• Demonstrate and promote the company vision and strategy.
• Plan and multitask to maximize productivity and meet deadlines.
• Meet quality and productivity metrics; foster teamwork and collaboration.
• Lead teams, schedules and training in client environments.
• Organize resources and staff to achieve client goals on time.
• Ensure adherence to quality and efficiency standards in laboratory operations.
• Maintain coverage and high performance via management systems.
• Assist Director with business operations as needed.
• Stay current on science and consult with client contacts.
