Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Lab Operations Manager, Bioanalytics in Madison, WI to lead high-volume bioanalytical teams supporting preclinical and clinical studies. You will ensure quality, compliance, and client satisfaction while mentoring supervisors and driving process improvements.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in biopharma labs under GLP/GCP, with 4+ years of people management and strong regulatory knowledge, plus proficiency in LIMS and MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical Science or related field is required.
  • 8+ years Biopharma lab experience in GLP/GCP environments preferred.
  • 4+ years of people management experience required.
  • Experience leading laboratory operations and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manages operational activities of lab teams conducting bioanalytical analysis for preclinical and clinical studies.
  • Ensures scientific quality and client service targets are achieved.
  • Supervises, trains and mentors Lab Operations staff and supervisors.
  • Addresses facility and process audits; supports client visits as needed.
  • Owns process improvement initiatives and non-study related projects.
  • Tracks forecasting, revenue and cost management; analyzes data for decisions.

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Operations Manager, Bioanalytics to join our team in Madison, WI.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, Day Shift

Job Responsibilities
  • Manages operational activities of laboratory teams conducting bioanalytical analysis in support of preclinical and clinical studies.
  • Ensures scientific quality and client service targets are achieved.
  • Effectively manage staffing, monitoring schedules, and assist with prioritization and day to day resourcing of personnel and equipment.
  • Directly supervise, train, and mentor supervisors along with responsibility for all Lab Operations staff.
  • Assists with routine client visits and regulatory audits, as needed.
  • Assists and/or addresses facility and/or process audits, as needed.
  • Independently owns and manages process improvement initiates, or non-study related projects.
  • Responsible for assuring staff compliance to SOPs and other regulatory agency guidelines, as applicable.
  • Discusses study problems or scope changes with appropriate personnel, suggests solutions and actions to solve study problems, manages the impact on time and cost.
  • Independently tracks, analyzes, and provides recommendations related to forecasting, revenue production, and cost management.
  • Addresses study and process issues, including corrective and preventative action plans that may be required.
  • Promotes a cohesive team environment.
  • Acts as a mentor to other staff.
  • Participates in project meetings, plans, monitors and guides project work.
  • Interacts with internal and external clients.
  • Ensures a clean and safe laboratory work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical Science or related.
  • 8 years or more Biopharma lab experience or related, working in a GLP/ GCP laboratory, with extensive knowledge of regulations.
  • 4 years or more People Management experience.
Preferred Qualification
  • Current or prior Labcorp or contract laboratory experience.
  • Experience with HPLC and Mass Spectrometry 4 years or more with specific Bioanalytical Lab Experience 2 years or more of experience managing people leaders.
  • Experience with HPLC and Mass Spectrometry 4 years or more.

Additional Job Standards
  • Experience in a high volume laboratory environment.
  • Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures.
  • Proven success in training and developing both technical and non-technical employees.
  • Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to problem solve and provide solutions under minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
  • High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment.
  • Client facing experience.
  • Ability to time manage, plan, prioritize, and negotiate.
  • Ability to lead meetings and presentations.
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position.
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

**Pay Range: $100,000 - $130,000 annually

All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Benefits
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
