Job summary

Family Practice Associates is seeking a Laboratory Manager in Lexington, KY to lead and oversee all facets of the laboratory operations. This full-time role focuses on quality, compliance, staffing, and performance to deliver accurate, timely, and patient-centered lab services across multiple locations.

The position requires CLIA-defined leadership, a strong background in medical laboratory science, and effective collaboration with providers, managers, and administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or Clinical Laboratory Science is required.
• ASCP certification is required or strongly preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience in a clinical laboratory and prior leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and staff management.
• Experience with electronic health records and laboratory information systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with patients, staff, providers, and leadership.
• Ability to lead independently while collaborating in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Direct, manage, and monitor day-to-day laboratory operations and workflow.
• Develop and monitor laboratory processes for accuracy, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
• Maintain equipment maintenance, calibration, and service of instrumentation.
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, OSHA, and other safety standards.
• Lead staff development, competency assessments, and performance reviews.
• Participate in budgeting, procurement, and inventory control for the lab.
• Collaborate with leadership to support organizational goals and quality patient care.
