Job summary

Adventist Health Howard Memorial in Willits, CA, seeks a Laboratory Manager to oversee the clinical/anatomic lab operations, QA programs, and regulatory compliance. The role reports to Medical Directors and Regional Lab Directors and drives quality and efficiency across lab services.

The ideal candidate has a CLS license, ASCP/NCA certification, and leadership experience, with a track record of managing budgets and coordinating cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, chemical sciences or allied health technologies or equivalent: Required
• Master's Degree: Preferred
• Five years' clinical laboratory experience: Preferred
• One year's leadership experience: Preferred
• Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in state of employment: Required in CA
• Current certification from ASCP or NCA: Preferred in CA and HI
• ASCP Certification: Required in CA

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day operations of a laboratory unit/department.
• Develops and monitors QA programs and ensures compliance with regulations.
• Oversees staffing, scheduling and performance evaluations.
• Manages budgets and financial performance of the laboratory.
• Ensures safety and proper CPT coding, billing and audits.
