Mountain View Hospital is hiring a Histology Technician to join our laboratory team in Idaho Falls. You will perform routine Histology procedures, ensure accuracy of test results, and troubleshoot instrumentation while maintaining quality control and customer service standards.

Requirements include HT-ASCP or HT-NCA certification and 2+ years of histology experience. Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years Histology experience or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine Histology procedures per SOPs and report results.
  • Adhere to quality assurance and QC procedures across testing.
  • Troubleshoot analyzers and equipment; coordinate with technologists/service reps.
  • Train Histology staff and new employees; share knowledge with the lab team.

Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Histology Technician to join our team!JOB SUMMARY:Performs the daily activities related to Histology. Ensures the validity of test results by performing calibrations, quality controls, and routine maintenance on all analyzers and manual tests. Provide excellent customer service on the phone and in person, to patients, physicians, and other medical staff. Must work well under pressure, troubleshoot analyzers and equipment, prioritize specimens (STAT, Urgent, Routine, etc.), multitask, and be flexible in order to accommodate laboratory needs.BENEFITS:Taking care for our community starts with taking care of our own team. Adheres to quality assurance and quality control procedures in performing all testing.Correlates clinical information and/or previous pathology results and reports discrepancies to the Department Lead or Laboratory Supervisor. Consults with the Department Lead or Laboratory Supervisor when no preset criterion for decision-making is available before taking action.Maintains and operates Histology lab equipment; able to detect malfunctions as they occur by review of instruments results. Troubleshoots the problem with technologist or service representative assistanceEnsures appropriate histology lab supplies are always on hand in their assigned area or department.Trains or instructs Histology laboratory personnel in performance of lab tests and procedures where assigned.Participates in established Quality Management activities, QC testing of Histology lab reagents and maintenance of equipment. Follows protocol for running and documenting control values. Collects, evaluates, and reports quality management data in order to monitor and improve histology laboratory performanceAttends and participates in continuing education programs to monitor proficiency, expand current knowledge and enhance professional excellence.
