Qualifications

Laboratory Technologist - Night Shift

Job Description

The Laboratory Technologist (MLT or MT) is responsible for performing diagnostic laboratory tests and accurately reporting results to physicians for the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of diseases. This position is under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager and includes assisting in the general operation of the laboratory, quality assurance programs, and the maintenance of laboratory equipment. The technologist must exercise independent judgment and possess professional education and National certification (AMT or ASCP).

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests and accurately report results.
• Assist in quality assurance programs and laboratory operations.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure its proper functioning.
• Exercise independent judgment in test performance and result interpretation.
• Act as a general supervisor for waived, moderate, and high complexity testing post-probation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Medical Technology or a related area of specialty.
• Certification/registration or certification/registry eligibility as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician.
• Knowledge of principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques of medical technology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Schedule

This position requires availability for night shifts.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
