Job summary

Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma seeks a Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician to join our laboratory team in a full-time, regular position. The role supports patient care through accurate testing and analysis using advanced equipment.

The position offers day, night, and weekend shifts, with 8- or 12-hour schedules discussed during interview. Certification in Medical Technology (MT ASCP), with ASCP Categorical/Specialist or AMT preferred, is required.

Qualifications

• Certification in Medical Technology through MT (ASCP), ASCP Categorical or Specialist Certification, or AMT.
• Working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing on patient specimens.
• Validate and report test results to providers and laboratory leadership.
• Operate, troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Collect specimens through venipuncture and skin puncture procedures.
• Ensure proper patient identification, specimen handling, and collection practices.
• Prepare and maintain culture media, reagents, stains, and laboratory solutions.
• Monitor and support Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Infection Control initiatives.
• Assist with implementation of new laboratory procedures and technologies; provide guidance and training to students, interns, and team members.
• Analyze laboratory data, identify trends, and contribute recommendations for improvement.
