Origin Travel Nurses is seeking a qualified Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for a night shift assignment in Pennsylvania. The contract runs 8 weeks from Oct 19 to Dec 11, 2026, with 12-hour nights 6 PM–6 AM and alternate weekends.

Candidates must hold a BS in Medical Technology or related field, ASCP certification, and at least 6 years of lab experience, including experience with Cerner Millennium LIS.

Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is an 8-week contract position, starting on Mon, Oct 19, 2026, and concluding on Fri, Dec 11, 2026.

Schedule

The position requires 12-hour night shifts, from 6 PM to 6 AM, including every other weekend, with a possible variation to a 10 PM start time on certain nights.

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) with a Bachelor of Science degree and at least 6 years of experience to work independently during night shifts. Responsibilities include general laboratory work in various areas such as phlebotomy, chemistry, Blood Bank, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and micro plating (note: no reading of micro plates).

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and laboratory tests across multiple disciplines.
• Ensure accurate specimen handling, preparation, and analysis.
• Utilize laboratory instrumentation and maintain quality controls.
• Document and report test results per established protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnoses.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
• ASCP certification required.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Experience with laboratory information systems, specifically Cerner Millennium.
