Job summary

MFM Health in Middleton, MA seeks an experienced Medical Laboratory Manager (CLS/MLS) to lead daily operations of our clinical laboratory and point-of-care testing program. This hands‑on leader ensures quality, regulatory compliance, and efficient workflows while mentoring staff and collaborating with providers to deliver accurate diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MLS/MT/CLS or related science from an accredited institution.
• Current national certification as MLS/MT/CLS via ASCP or equivalent.
• 4–6 years of clinical laboratory experience including high‑complexity testing and supervisory responsibilities.
• Experience with QA/QC programs, proficiency testing, CAPA, and regulatory inspections.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory testing activities, specimen handling, processing, testing and result reporting.
• Hire, train, and onboard laboratory staff; manage schedules and performance.
• Maintain QC/QA programs; participate in proficiency testing and corrective actions; ensure CLIA and MA compliance.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair of equipment; manage reagents and supply inventory.
• Collaborate with IT, LIS, EHR teams to optimize workflows and test dictionaries.
• Perform administrative duties and support new tests and equipment implementations.
