Urban Health Plan in the Bronx, NY is seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead in-house operations at El Nuevo San Juan Health Center. You will supervise staff, enforce policies, and ensure specimen integrity while also performing phlebotomy as needed.

The role requires a National Certified Phlebotomy Technician, bilingual English/Spanish, 2–5 years of supervisory lab experience, and an associates degree (bachelors preferred).

Qualifications

• National Certified Phlebotomy Technician required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
• 2–5 years in a laboratory environment including supervisory experience.
• Associates Degree minimum; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a team of Phlebotomists and Patient Service Representatives across multiple stations.
• Ensures specimen integrity by enforcing collection, handling, and processing procedures.
• Maintains and enforces departmental operating policies and procedures.
• Conducts phlebotomist training and assesses competency.
• Maintains laboratory hours schedule; onsite Mon-Sat coverage.
• Liaises with BioReference for specimen pickup and processing.
• Runs reports in EHR and notifies providers of critical values.
• Performs other related managerial duties as assigned.
