Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth in Fort Worth, TX is hiring a Full Time Laboratory Manager to lead the medical laboratory, supervise staff, ensure quality control, and maintain regulatory compliance in a busy surgical hospital setting.

Education and certification requirements include a BS in Medical Technology with internship, CLIA88 prerequisites, MT/MLS/CLS (ASCP) or equivalent, and BLS. Minimum 6 months internship experience is expected.

Qualificações

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology with supervised clinical internship.
• CLIA88 prerequisite education/experience required.
• Certification: MT/MLS/CLS (ASCP) or equivalent MT(HEW)/MT(AMT)/CLS(NCA).
• BLS required.

Responsabilidades

• Participates in collection of specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Coordinates processes for referring tests to outside contracted laboratory.
• Adheres to established methods, quality control procedures and maintenance schedules.
• Identifies unusual results or abnormalities and ensures accurate data interpretation.
• Assures adequate supplies are available.
• Complies with OSHA and universal precautions; disposes of hazardous materials.
• Maintains instruments and documents maintenance.
• Performs and reviews QC to validate test results and investigates out-of-control runs.
• Reports results promptly and notifies proper personnel of critical values.
• Participates in continuing education and hospital in-services.
• Any other tasks relevant to the area.

Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital - Fort Worth is seeking a Fulltime Medical Laboratory Manager.

Education

• · Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology (or directly related field), which includes supervised clinical internship in an approved laboratory; or equivalent education.
• · All CLIA88 prerequisite education and/or experience requirements applicable to testing personnel are required.

Licensure/Certification

• · Certification as MT/MLS/CLS (ASCP) or equivalent MT(HEW) MT(AMT) or CLS(NCA).
• · BLS Required

Specific Job Experience

• · Minimum 6 months supervised clinical internship in an approved laboratory

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• · Good communication and people skills
• · Excellent customer service skills
• · Analytical abilities necessary to perform calculations, calibrate instruments, and relate test results to normal healthy state and to presence of disease or other conditions, which may alter test results.
• · Ability to utilize Electronic Health Care Record for patient documentation.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• · Participates in the collection of specimens for laboratory analysis either through direct patient contact or by advising nursing and medical staffs of the proper procedure for collection of such specimens.
• · Coordinates processes for referring tests to outside contracted laboratory.
• · Adheres to established methods, quality control procedures and preventative maintenance schedules
• · Identifies unusual results or abnormalities, correlate laboratory data with diagnosis, identifies discrepancies and takes prompt, appropriate action to assure accuracy.
• · Assures adequate supplies are available.
• · Complies with regulatory agency standards, Adheres to all OSHA compliance laws and Universal precaution procedures. Properly disposes of hazardous materials.
• · Complies with Baylor All Saints Medical Center Blood Bank policies to assure compliance with all regulation requirements.
• · Networks without source lab for results and timeliness of turnaround time
• · Maintains instruments as required per schedule to ensure integrity and precision; documents maintenance
• · Performs and reviews QC to validate test results. Follows defined protocol for investigating out-of control runs; implements and documents action to be taken.
• · Reports result in a timely manner and notify proper personnel of all critical and alert values immediately. Documents these actions.
• · Participates in continuing education programs and hospital in-services.
• · Any other tasks or services deemed relevant to your area.
