Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor at BSWH Medical Center Waxahachie in Texas. The role focuses on overseeing routine lab activities, ensuring staffing adequacy, and timely, quality-standard tests.

You will assist with hiring, training, evaluations, and payroll. The ideal candidate holds ASCP certification or an MLS generalist credential with at least four years of supervisor experience in a hospital lab.

Qualifications

• Must hold ASCP certification or an equivalent credential as an MLS generalist.
• A minimum of at least 4 years of supervisor experience in a hospital lab setting.
• CAP, CLIA, and Joint Commission accreditation standards are highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the work of assigned subordinates in testing phases. Performs all delegated functions as defined by the facility CLIA Director.
• Prepares schedules, coordinates job assignments, and monitors personnel. Assists in selecting, orienting, training, assigning, evaluating, disciplining, and discharging employees.
• Assists in the development of policies and procedures related to the laboratory, staffing, and scheduling.
• Communicates and escalates staffing issues or other concerns to management in a timely manner.
• Monitors the inventory system to ensure that necessary supplies are available as needed and in the proper quantity.
• Assists with implementing quality assurance programs and maintains standards and records that document compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Assists with reviewing quality control, proficiency testing, instrument maintenance, and quality assurance records, and any corrective actions.
• Assists with the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets.

Job Summary
