Job Description

NETZSCH Premier Technologies, LLC is looking for a Laboratory Manager to plan and direct all department activities, including testing with customers, scheduling, organization, maintenance, and investments. Specifically, this position will:

1. Plan, coordinate, and direct testing for product development and improvement of manufacturing processes.
2. Provide technical support to the sales staff through reports, papers, and technical presentations.
3. Coordinate research and analysis activities according to applicable government regulations, manufacturing processes, or other considerations, and approve modification of formulas, standards, specifications, and processes.
4. Directly supervise and provide training for lab employees in the areas of chemical handling, machine operation, and testing procedures.
5. Interpret and communicate results of laboratory activities to laboratory employees, sales team, management, and professional and technical organizations.
6. Share technical information with lab employees in Germany. Establish relationships with process colleagues in Germany.
7. Prepare lab reports, performance guarantees, and technical papers. Present technical papers at conferences and professional organizations.
8. Advise and assist in obtaining patents for products, processes, or equipment.
9. Prepare and administer laboratory budgets.
10. Actively participate in the Safety Committee.
11. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and at least 10 years related experience and/or training. Equivalent experience in lieu of degree is acceptable. Previous experience managing or leading a team is required. In addition:

1. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to customers, managers, and other employees is required.
2. The ability to gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions and work well in group problem-solving situations is necessary.
3. Must be able to react professionally in stressful situations.
4. Must be able to work on-site in Exton, PA.
