Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Materials Handler to receive, inspect and deliver stock to departments across the Flint area campuses. You will participate in inventory control, handle routine stock rotation and assist in courier services for laboratory systems.

The role requires lifting up to 75 pounds, basic understanding of ordering systems, and the ability to analyze inventory; full-time schedule 7:00am-3:30pm; on-site at multiple sites within the network.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic understanding of ordering system.
  • Ability to analyze inventory and follow protocols.
  • Knowledge of inventory control processes.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and distribution of all stock to individual departments, as well as stock for client.
  • Routine rotation of stock and assisting in inventory control.
  • Assists in management of courier services for laboratory system.
  • Participates in lab quality assessment and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Communicates and troubleshoots order errors and backorders with associated managers and supplies personnel.
  • Performs other duties as required or requested.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Receiving and distribution of all stock to individual departments, as well as stock for client.

2. Routine rotation of stock and assisting in inventory control.

3. Assists in management of courier services for laboratory system.

4. Participates in lab quality assessment and continuous quality improvement activities.

5. Communicates and troubleshoots order errors and backorders with associated managers and supplies personnel.

6. Performs other duties as required or requested.

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred:

Position Specific Expectations:

  • Basic understanding of ordering system.
  • Ability to analyze inventory and follow proper protocols.
  • Lifting 75 pounds or more with frequently walking and or carrying of objects.
  • Knowledge of computerized inventory system, for the accurate allocation of supplies and equipment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Heavy Work:Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
