Job summary

ICF supports the USEPA Region 9 ESAT contract at the Corvallis, Oregon lab. The Laboratory Health and Safety Lead/Environmental Chemist implements and maintains environmental health and safety programs, conducts inspections, and updates SOPs to ensure regulatory compliance.

The Environmental Chemist duties include EPA-method analyses with instruments like ICP-OES/ICP-MS, GC‑MS, and GC‑FID, supporting soil, water, air, and waste analyses for environmental hazards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in physical sciences and at least 6 years of lab experience including safety, regulatory implementation, and waste management.
• 3+ years of EPA-method based environmental lab experience in ISO 17025 accredited setting.
• Experience with LIMS (Clinysis, Promium) and IQME is preferred; U.S. citizenship and EPA background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain comprehensive EHS programs in compliance with regulations.
• Perform inspections, review SOPs, and deliver staff training on safety and environmental management.
• Coordinate with EPA and internal teams for audits, corrective actions, and documentation.
• Assist with hazard analyses, incident investigations, and waste management activities.
